virgin trains and where they run

where would you ever see a virgin train next to:
An arriva unit*
northern unit*
emt unit*
east coast unit*
a cross country unit*
a london overground and underground unit*
southern unit*

please note * i know some places where i think these would be seen by but im asking for any suggestions where else you would see these.

Arriva unit: crewe-chester-holyhead, Manchester-stockport-crewe
Northern unit: Liverpool area, Manchester-stockport-crewe-stoke, preston/wigan area.
EMT unit: Liverpool area, manchester-stockport
east coast: Haymarket, motherwell, glasgow or edinburgh area?
Cross country: ssme as above but also from manchester-stockport-stoke-crewe-stafford-Birmingham
A london overground and underground: this is pretty much the only place but from watford junction to euston and the underground from harrow and wealdstone.
Southern unit: from MKC into london.

Anywhere else that i missed out where you would see a virgin train next to?

Forgot to add London Midland, Pretty much the whole of the WCML South.

Also you will see VT services with XC, Arriva, LM at Wolverhampton

I didnt include london midland as i know that you will pass them nearly all the time travelling to london via the west coast.

I think that Doncaster at 7 - Grand Central, East Midlands Trains, Hull Trains, East Coast, XCountry, Northern Rail, TransPennine Express - has the most TOCs stopping there, which seems to be confirmed by this map. Peterborough also has 7 passing through it, but is served by only 5. Man Picadilly, Stockport, Crewe and York all have 6 TOCs serving them.

By contrast I'm not sure which is the busiest station to be served by one TOC, but I'd suspect one of the London terminals (Fenchurch Street?) or perhaps Glasgow Queen Street.

No. Southeastern only interface with Southern, Overground, FCC, FGW, EMT and Eurostar (pretty sure there's no stations served by both SE and SWT). Scotrail never meet, even with the Sleeper, FGW, SE, SWT, Southern (though they share tracks), c2c and NXEA for sure. c2c only meets NXEA.

Fenchurch Street 09/10: 15.093 million (c2c)
Canon Street 08/09: 21.646 million* (Southeastern)
Charing Cross 09/10: 36.460 million (Southeastern)
Waterloo 09/10: 86.397 million (SWT)

Glasgow Queen Street 08/09: 19.637 million (ScotRail)

Basically, you forgot about Waterloo. 19 platforms of SWT.

*Not bad for a station that only has services six days a week, and is pretty limited in service on Saturdays compared to M-F

London Bridge, Victoria, Kings Cross, Euston, St Pancras are all multiple operator, and Marylebone is small and pretty quiet. All the other big stations I can think of outside London are multiple operator (in fact, is Queen Street the only large and busy station outside London with only one operator?)

Im not sure what the figures would be between Fenchurch and marylebone though..

Yes. Waterloo East is a seperate station. FGW sometimes serve Waterloo during engineering. Other TOCs have had short lived, infrequent long distance services. Eurostar is long gone. It is just SWT.

Whilst the London termini will win this kind of quiz, I think a special mention should be given to places like Swindon and Ipswich (since they are whole towns with only one TOC)
