To use the Virgin trains first class lounge at New Street, do you have to be travelling 1st class with Virgin Trains or will they accept 1st class XC tickets?

I'm afraid they will only accept tickets valid on VT. Not XC tickets. A FDS to Wolverhampton is around £4.60, dunno if that's any use?

VT only
If you're going down that route a FDS to Birmingham International (VT only) is £3.60
If you're going down that route a FDS to Birmingham International (VT only) is £3.60

Although it depends on the ticket. If it is valid on VT and XC, you can use it in the lounge, even if you are planning to travel on XC.
