I have a link to a website highlighting a case back in 2009 in which a passenger who had a zones 1 and 2 travelcard stored on his Oystercard, and an anytime return between boundary zone 2 and Milton Keynes was prohibited from boarding a Virgin service at Euston, with Virgin staff claiming that his tickets were invalid. The subsequent dispute dragged on for the next six months before he was offered an apology and complimentary tickets. The site says that legal action was being prepared against Virgin on a number of points but has not been updated since. Wondered if anyone has or had an update on whether the case was eventually resolved and what the outcome was?

I believe VT have since started acting "properly".

To be fair, it was 2 years ago now, and things do change.

Boundary Zone 2 - Milton Keynes remains routed Any Permitted.

IRRC ATOC got involved on this case and told Virgin to carefully consider their position, (i.e. you have no choice!).

I think there are Oyster validators at all Euston platforms now anyway.

I will check tomorrow evening regarding this.

(Incidentally, Boundary Zone X tickets down the WCML carry a 4A restriction, whereas London Terminals ones are DM, which has an evening bar between 1645 and 1845.)
