That's quite expensive for what it is IMO and I cannot see many off-peak takers although it is a reasonably cheap way to sample their good food.

Also good luck trying to get WiFi on a mobile - I had no luck accessing the web (connecting was ok) on my Android phone.

Overall £25 is a bit steep (almost the price of a railcard discount (off peak) return from BHM-EUS), whether or not you end up getting it largely depends, IMO, on how much you're willing to pay to escape the riff-raff (as Basil Fawlty would say )

OK, I must concede that for Euston to Glasgow it is definitely a bargain. I forgot about the booze, probably because it was never explicitly offered when I last travelled first class with virgin

Im heading to london euston from glasgow on friday with one of these upgrades.

I'm getting the 0940 from glasgow central and understand there will be a hot breakfast and, say, orange juice or some appropriate beverage for that time of day.

However, come 1200, i'll certainly be considering myself in holiday mode and wouldn't mind a glass of wine or a beer.

Will this be available at our table for free?

The info i've seen is a bit ambiguous saying soft drinks at breakfast, which is fine, but what about a couple of hours later?

Alcohol is available after 11am. It won't be on the table but depending on the crew they'll either come through with a trolley with the alcohol on it or they'll ask you if you want a (cold) drink and then you can select alcohol. The alcohol served is free on the train but there is a charge at Euston's first class lounge. Mixers, soft drinks and hot drinks are all free

Subject to you being over 18 of course

Hmmm ... I am travelling on the 1143 EUS - BHM ... if I was travelling further then I would consider this ... bit too steep considering the fact I've paid £7.60 for the whole journey from home ....

I can imagine northbound services out of Euston in the afternoon/evening being *very* busy. No doubt, coach G will be declassified on these. I wouldn't be surprised if some services are declassified throughout due to overcrowding resulting in no First Class service, unless boarding controls are in operation with reservations given priority over walk-on tickets.

Oh really??

That shouldn't be happenning. Only once have I had to move people from in there this year as it was like sitting in a fridge and no way would I want anyone sat there freezing for 2 hours.

Unless you sometimes do what I do and start the service from coach G, should I then need to restock then its less distance to walk.
