Virgin Pendolino stopped at Blisworth today...

WCML heading north near Blisworth was a Pendolino stopped just past a signal as we walked the dogs and the driver was walking down the side of the train looking underneath it. Thought it may have been a fatality, but thankfully it was apparently a tent had blown onto the tracks and had gone underneath as he told us as we got to the footbridge over the line.
The missus in a moment of rare wisdom says "well he could hardly swerve around it !"

I'm imagining that by the time he'd stopped the tent would've been about five miles behind him...

I got stuck on that stretch one Sunday many months back when I was on a diverted LM service and something came off a NR infrastructure train in front of us and knocked a Pendo coming the other way. We sat there for about 40 minutes waiting for everything to be checked before we could get going.
