Out of interest was that Alstom Pendo?
No idea at the moment to be honest, I'm going all the way to Euston so I shall check when I get off. (Unless there is a way you can tell from inside?)

IPT will know better than me on this one - there may be numbers on the inside, but to be honest, it is probably easier to wait until you alight.
If it is Alstom Pendolino (390004) then it will have the vinyls down either side so not hard to miss

I only suggested Ally because I saw her going down to Euston as the 1646 from Stafford so to leave as the 2048 makes sense given the turn around time in Euston
Don't believe there are numbers on the inside of a Pendo, I know the Turbostars and 323s have them but don't think that Pendos do

Doubt it, Alsthom pendo was seen heading from Crewe to Manchester at around 6pm ...
