Virgin Pendolino 57 Drags

Hi guys,

Wanted to ask why Virgin still get DRS to drag some of their Pendolino stock along electrified track? I have seen many Virgin ECS moves for Pendolino's that don't need any 57's at all, I wondered why they would at all need to be used at any point given all the Pendolino depots are on electrified lines?

I think it's just to keep route and traction knowledge up for the drivers in case one was to fail.

It is to keep competency on a traction that doesn't see that much use in other circumstances. 5F09 is I guess one of the trains your referring to?
