Hi,

First of all apologies if this is in the wrong forum. I did have a look for a similar post but i couldn't find it.

I am using Virgin from Manchester > London Euston first class on saturday.

During the week there is a meal service with free food. I believe there isn't a service at weekend. However will i be able to get free food from the shop carriage?

Thanks very much.

Welcome to the Forum, mate! There is an at-seat service of tea, coffee, water, biscuits, crisps and fruit.

It typically only passes through once, after Crewe/Macclesfield on the way down, or Euston on the way back up. Saturday daytime trains from Piccadilly tend to be quieter, so it may be through more often. Hope this helps :D :D

This Thread will probably get moved to the NR General Discussion at the very top of the homepage :D

Between servings can you go for more?

I hardly ever use Rail to be honest. I used it allot in Australia but hardly in my home country and have never done first class.

Thanks

Just take your First Class ticket to the shop, ask what you are entitled to and they will probably offer you :
tea or coffee
crisps or biscuits (quite often both)
fruit (if there is any)

I used to make two visits between Preston and Glasgow, just after leaving Preston, then about an hour later just after Carlisle
Two of the hosts got quite used to me making these journeys once a month, and had my tea ready as I arrived (having already travelled south, they would ask me if I was travelling back north with them)
