Just noticed the VT breakfast is Mon-Fri only in first. Is there any food service on the train on Saturdays London-Glasgow?

On weekends you can get tea/coffee/orange j/water etc, as well as fruit and crisps. Unfortunately no sandwiches- i dont personally understand why many TOCs do this.

Has been known for it too be at seat for the Northern Preston-Scotland strectch too, also it is of note that you shouldn't be anticipating more than two rounds of refreshments!

Likewise, if you fancy a very standard beer for over £4, the swanky bar near platform one is just the ticket!

Or, as happens increasingly often now, 'staff shortages' at weekends, so no at seat service. They will let you pick up tea, coffee, or water from the shop, plus biscuits if in stock in the shop.

Only had a staffed 1st class service on Manchester or Preston to London a couple of times in the past 6 months at a weekend.

Also, the OP can always pop in to the FC lounge in London first for drinks, a few snacks etc in there.

There was actually tea and coffee served at seat. We assumed no food service so we bought a baguette at Euston before boarding. We later discovered there were indeed sandwiches being sold in the shop.
The train was well loaded out of Euston, and to my surprise seemed the gain
more passengers than lost Warrington north to Glasgow. A three minute or so signal check at Bletchley but otherwise very punctual and comfortable.
