Yes you can view it from the car park at the back of barclays Bank. From the A534 Crewe Road turn into Electra Way then 1st right in to Westmere drive and Barclays Bank is on your left, turn 1st left just past the bank and there is a car park behind it where you can see it from.

Hope this helps

Cheers... and from looking at Google maps it's only a few minutes walk from Crewe?

390 033 is on my photo hit list, although at least I did get it for haulage...

Can I ask what the walking time was? I'm wondering about doing it very quickly by taxi straight there - click click - straight back, because if I do go this coming week ( weather permitting ) I am planning to stop off in Birmingham on the way back to try to get my last Midland Metro tram photo and hopefully get 139 001 for haulage and photo as well, so even saving just ¼ an hour might make an hour's difference with daylight later on...

If you are traveling by taxi I would think you could get there take some picture and be back at Crewe station comfortably within 30 minutes. Walking time I would allow 15 minutes each way, I was driving :)

took us a little longer as was icy all the way. i would say a 10 mins walk there but once you know the way there you would be back within 10 minutes back,

once you get there you can get nice and close to it for a photo

oddly enough no one bothered. but their car park was icy so maybe they couldn't be bothered. a couple people were by the back entrance but no one said nothing. maybe they are used to random people turning up to see it.

I can confirm it's an easy 10-15 min walk between Crewe & Tatton House.

It's where I came extremely close to being offered the chance to become an onboard CSA at the end of June, but very narrowly missed out.

Do they also have the driver simulator there?

i am pretty sure it where the 2x221 and 1x390 simulators are as well, in Tatton House that is. I think one is called Doris and one called Iris and can't remember the nameof the other but maybe wrong on them both.

They have preserved two good bits drivers cab and first class (coach K) and Coach C witht the shop and train managers office
