Virgin 1 st Class 24 December - 2 January.

I'll be in the UK during this period and have booked a nice little day out taking advantage of Virgin's First Class Save deal on the 29th December.

Normally on the trains booked I'd get a full breakfast and an evening meal but apparently not during this period. I guess the price reflects this fact but it would be helpful to know what exactly will be on offer.

My message to Virgin has not been answered. Perhaps I'll have more luck on here !

No, its the quietest time in the rail network. Thats why they schedule long maintenance projects for then.

Certain days and times are very busy, but the period as a whole is quieter than average.

I think he was reacting to Virgin's use of "less busier". "Busier" means, as posted, "more busy." So, "less busier" would mean "less more busy." which doesn't make sense.

Of course , 1st class service does depend on enough staff being available.
If they are short-staffed, then you have to walk to the shop which in Pendelinos is usually in coach C .So if you are in First class coach K , then it can mean walking through 6 coaches to get your food, showing your ticket of course .
