I notice that the Vintage Trains trip to Holyhead is postponed due to one of the locomotives being unavailable.

Do VT not have a big enough pool of locomotives to top and tail the train regardless?

As far as I'm aware, their only mainline rated diesels are 47773 and 37240, so I'm guessing if either those are unavailable, then the trip can't run if top & tail is required (unless they could arrange a short-notice hire of something else vacuum-braked).

As fun as it would be to put 7029 or 5043 in as a substitute for one of the diesels, the need to find a steam crew and path in water stops would preclude it.

I’ve also noticed that their Manchester trip has disappeared and the Blackpool trip no longer mentions the 37.
