Does anyone know what's happened to some of Vintage Train's tours recently? For example: -

Sat 26th September "City of St Albans" with 5043 CANCELLED
Sat 10th October "Blackpool Illuminator" with 5043 CANCELLED or rescheduled as
Sat 10th October "Castle on the WCML" with 5043 now also CANCELLED
Sat 31st October "West Coast Princess"with 6201 CANCELLED (or at least disappeared from the website recently)
The Sat 17th October Shap and S&C trip with 5690 Leander is still on as of today according to the VT website.

VT are usually very reliable, and seen as the 3rd October Diesel Excursion did run and the 5690 trip is also still on, I am inclined to think something has happened to 5043. Can anyone shed some light on this?

The latest trip to Watford was cancelled due to low bookings and not enough people transferring off the St Albans trip. I think pathing problems affected the Blackpool and St Albans trip

Why not postpone and wait for more bookings or for an available path, although the July excursion programme did indicate a packed autumn.

Would you want to visit Watford on a railtour?

I think the attraction was that it was believed either to be the first GWR Castle down the WCML ever or in preservation. Also tickets were being provided for service trains to St Albans from Watford.

Surely the Blackpool trip would have been more popular, and it could have been rescheduled to the empty Sat 7th Nov, when I believe the illuminations are still on, unless of course something else prevented that too.

Wasn't a castle ran down the WCML during the locomotive exchanges of the 1940/50's?
