Hi, I was commuting up to Northampton all last week, and whilst waiting for my LM services back home, on a couple of occasions a Pendolino flew past - on two separate evenings.

I know the 0620 southbound from Rugby calls there, and also a very late evening train from Wolverhampton - but what other Virgin services are timetabled to go via the Northampton Loop (I know they don't stop). I didn't think there were any these days but last week changed my mind!

Many Thanks. :)

I don't think they "flew" past as there is a speed restriction of 20mph(?) through the station.

I don't think any others are timetabled via Northampton apart from diversions off the Weedon route.

Ah yes sorry I didn't literally mean 'flew' - I just meant they didn't stop. :) Apologies. :)

I was on the 22:37 from Wolverhampton last night, the train was scheduled to stop at Northampton. A few late evening services go that way as the other route is shut for engineering works.

On Tuesday, Virgin service's had been diverted through Northampton due to OHL problem between MK and Rugby, I think this when on all day

Yes, I saw one at about 1800 on the Tuesday, going Northbound, and one going South at around 1930 on Thursday. So that will explain the Tuesday one! Thanks :)

Northampton had around 6 stop per day prior to the new WCML upgrade; although the majority were southbound, so not much use for people travelling north.

You probably saw some diverted trains. Especially on Tuesday, when there were OHLE problems on the Weedon route.
