So curious if anyone knows anything more about this. I've been commuting through Victoria for the past year or so and it's notable that it's operating a temporary layout with lots of signage covered or stickers on walls for wayfinding.
I know they had some new tunnels and a new Cardinal Place entrance that opened around 2017 which is before I used the station but clearly the intention was to direct people around them differently to the present set up, there's also a number of adaptable signs not in use for peak flows. It seems very 'one way' so my presumption is they maybe moved to this during Covid to avoid people passing each other and haven't gone back?
The current set up is great to get from the District to the Victoria but the other way round and you have to transverse the new long tunnel, quite a long way around! You can just about see under the wraps that the escalators are supposed to be be bidirectional at both ends allowing you a shorter route up to the District from the Victoria and a shorter route down to the Victoria from the Cardinal Place entrance. Any chance of them implementing the intended layout?
