For anybody who may find this interesting, I am reliably informed the ongoing Victoria line suspension between Victoria and Brixton is due to a defective train, and the situation has been further complicated by a minor collision between the defective train and a recovery train after the defective train rolled backwards.

This now a matter for the Rail Accident Investigation Branch, hence why it is taking so long.

Ah right, thanks for this information, very interesting. I was wondering why it was suspended for so long!

Whether this ends up as an RAIB investigated incident is debatable, but LU have at least followed good practice by informing the RAIB. It's certainly not the overall reason why the incident lasted nearly 9 hours.

AIUI - the trains were eventually moved late into the evening back to the depot.

Both units associated with this incident returned to normal traffic on Tuesday 7th January.
