Verona Porta Nuova - Venezia Santa Lucia no tickets available 19/04/26

Looking at trains between Verona and Venice on 19th April on trenitalia. All of the Frecciarossas are displaying "Travel solution temporarily not available for the selected date" although tickets for the regional trains are available.

On the OEBB website I found this message


Does anyone know where I could find any more information on this work?

Couldn't find it via the English version of the website, but with some clicking around I arrived at this page in Italian where you can filter construction works by data and by region.
Looking for the region Veneto I couldn't find any works on your route yet.

In the respective weekend there only appear to be works south of Bologna

Although it's not on the website, at a guess FR diversions via Bologna and RRBs part way for the regional trains, maybe in connection with the HSL.
This has happened a few times in the past year, and no doubt the revised times will appear in due course.
I would plan for an hour extra on the regional trains, more on any long-distance onesl

Thanks! It's rather annoying there is no information yet. I need to be in Venice Monday morning for work and I have already booked my flights to Verona for Friday. If travelling Sunday is going to be awful I would consider changing my accomodation in Verona and travelling on Saturday but I really need to know as soon as possible since hotels in Venice aren't getting any cheaper...

Does anyone know if the diverted trains will be more expensive / a nice route? I might end up just taking the slower diversionary route and scrapping my plan to visit Trieste. The Opicina tram is suspended again anyway.

The diversion is via Bologna, as OeBB state. Neither route is spectacular.

Regional trains are fixed price and cheap, if you can tolerate a RRB part way.

Maybe look at hotels in Venezia Mestre, just across the lagoon. They can be considerably cheaper than in Venice itself and you can get the bus or the tram across the lagoon if there's a problem with the trains.
