I doubt it's worth sustaining a depot for one contract, after Newport closes - I presume that's it?

What ever happened to the Astons Coaches operation?

They are still operating the Abercrave depot although that I think has 1 or 2 school contracts and the X63 Swansea - Brecon service together with the depot which was formally owned by Crossgates coaches which the powys contracts work out of.

That said Veolia have subcontracted some of the work in Powys to other operators.

To be honets Veolia have been a bit of a farce, I am sure MR Greenback may remember a certain bus operator which ran various blue liveried buses around Llanelli, Carmarthen, Neath & Cardiff back in 2001 which expanded rapidly before suddenly collapsing.

I note that on the "service changes" website of TfGM, that the Transdev service X8 from Burnley to Manchester will have more services added to the timetable from 16th April.

The Veolia-Transdev group recently acquired the public service operations of York Pullman, so when it comes to the former Transdev operations I don't think they're going anywhere in a hurry.

I believe Veolia's operations are all but gone, is anything still clinging on in Wales?

Veolia's Mid wales operations are still going known as crossgates coaches officaily Veolia Transport no longer exits.

The X63 Swansea - Brecon trawscambria service is up for tender this summer with some people I know predicting a win for stagecoach and possible use of the optare tempo's from the old X40 Carmarthen - Aberystwyth.

Yes, still won't be a huge operation - it's going to 5 trips each way with one of those being short.
