anyone have any idea whats going to happen to this lot .

i've heard alsorts from managment takeover to Centrebus buying them to Premiere Travel taking some routes etc etc.

Also whats the story with Veolia having a 12 vehicle "O" licence at Premieres Trent Wharf depot?

I'd imagine it's still up in the air. Veolia have disbanded most of their operations, so I wouldn't have thought it will be much longer before the future of Paul James is decided. Centrebus does seem a good fit.

I'm not sure why Veolia have a base registered with Premiere. I'd assumed it was for NatEx work but this has passed to Silverdale and Yourbus.

More than likely there would be an annoucement soon if they are going to close down some of their operation in england. This have been getting worse with them, some of us ex veolia staff have been wondering how they are keeping their operations in Powys going.

Wont the council there be in for a shock when veolia pull the plug and the established local operators have gone. Doesnt do veolia/transdev's image any good especially since they want to bid for rail franchises, i know there will be a lot of people who will not be happy if they got the wales franchise considering how they have run their south wales bus operations

The council are probably quite well prepared. Veolia putting in unrealistic tender prices, then pulling out of the contracts early has been the norm over the past few years. The sooner they're gone, the better. I just hope that when the time comes, their employees are able to find jobs elsewhere.

There's half a decade between now and when the Wales & Borders franchise comes up. I'd expect NX to be back in the race for rail franchises by then!!

Personally, I think they should stick to what they're best at - running waste disposal services. I heard a rumour that their bin lorry drivers were better paid than their PSV drivers, says it all really. :roll:

Yep! Certainly agree with you there! Anyone remember the embarrasement that was Connex South Eastern? Sadly, a franchise which still seems to be slowly recovering from those Connex Days...

I'd be interested to know what new contract terms they have around here - Basingstoke & Deane Borough council has apparently signed a new revised waste contract with them - which now to us, seems to be worser than the last contract, which now tells us about recyling only a very few types of plastic, and even that gets shipped off to Aisia - It's a strange lot of new does and dont's...hmmmmmmm!

As for Paul James - It wouldn't supprise me if Connex give it up, since the Veolia / Transdev / RATP Swap around, Veolia seem to be gradually speeding up their shinking of UK Operations...

Or, to put them another way - by one of their nicknames - Tonsil Bus - Look at their logo, and you'll see what i mean!

ROBERTS TOURS LTD T/A ROBERTS COACHES and Centrebus have brought them.

Roberts are getting the Hugglescote side of the business, which is the coaches (still Paul James branded, so will be interesting to see if that remains), and as shown in the VOSA notices, 155, 73 and the 2 Park and Rides. Centrebus will get the Saxby side, which includes Loughborugh to Grantham, Leicester to Melton, Nottingham to Oakham via Melton, Rutland Flyer (Melton-Oakham and Oakham to Corby), and the Oakham town service. Centrebus took the Vale Hopper services some time ago.

Centrebus have submitted registrations for the "D" services, to be operated from Saxby.

yes but they cancel it on the 20th of november and Premiere dropped a hint on facebook about RED X by saying a Tender is going in.

A Trent Barton staff member thinks they will take on the "D" services to get a bay in Victoria Bus Station from bay 9 they can run to Eastwood or Derby etc etc starting another front in the Premiere vs Trent Barton battle.:roll:
