Vehicle Detectors

Hi all,

At Combe station there are what appear to be 2 vehicle detectors (http://www.agd-systemes.fr/products/agd200uk.html) looking up the line.

Does anyone know what the purpose of these is, that isn't already satisfied by track circuits, please?

Just going by
The product you have shown I doubt these used to detect trains.

They are normally used for cars at traffic lights.

Infra red variants are available for detecting pedestrians. Could they be usage counters?
