Valley Lines Day explorer ticket

I was just thinking, is the Valley Lines Day Explorer ticket valid on First Great Western trains between Cardiff Central and Bridgend? (The National Rail Enquiries mentions Arriva Trains Wales as the only TOC in the list of valid TOCs although these rovers/rangers are usually valid on all TOCs in the area covered).

All the published material that I can find says that it is only valid on ATW. The national rail page states (somewhat confusingly):

"Unlimited travel on all operators (within the area shown on the map) for one day on the services of: Arriva Trains Wales (Rail) all Stagecoach in South Wales and Thomas Coaches."

This map also says the map on this page: "The Valley Lines Day Explorer and Night Rider are valid on these routes on the Arriva Trains Wales Network". Clumsily worded perhaps but clear enough!

I concur. It has always been made clear to me when purchasing one at the ticket office that the ranger is not valid on FGW services.
