Validity Carlisle -> Edinburgh via Glasgow

Is it valid on the return portion of an off peak return Carlisle to Edinburgh to go via Glasgow and BoJ there?

It's a valid route but the Off Peak Return has restriction 8A meaning no BoJ BoJ is fine on the return leg.

8A only prohibits break of journey on the outward portion of the ticket, so splitting the return in Glasgow is absolutely fine.

A BoJ on a journey that involves a walk through Glasgow city centre is virtually unenforceable on a walk-up ticket anyway.

Is the cheaper Lockerbie - Glasgow off-peak return (£21.10) valid via Edinburgh including a Break of Journey?

The usual Lockerbie to Edinburgh fare is £29.40, which is quite a lot more considering a similar mileage and journey duration.

It's a curious thing that WCML to Edinburgh walk-up tickets are generally valid via Glasgow, but not to Glasgow via Edinburgh (much the same excess mileage/dog leg).
I guess it goes back to the days when there were very few direct services to Edinburgh.
