Hey,

Many thanks for that info, i did watch a current affairs Wales this Week programme about two weeks ago regarding what was going on at the Barry site but have heard no more since then.
Last year i also had a driver experience coure driving the class 117 unit, which i enjoyed, would love to do it again.:)

all i know is that they are moving the 108 to the Garw (woo hoo closer too home) and preserving the line from Brynmenyn to Pontycymmer for the 108 to run on!

Half the stuff the program said about the railway was absolute s*** if you ask me.

I was a volunteer there but i will certainly be following down to the garw

A new Yahoo Group has been formed to support the activities at the GVR. The link is here...

http://uk.groups.yahoo.com/group/B-V-R/

The Barry Island Railway (as was ) is now under the control of Cambrian Transport as the new operator. I understand the agreement between CR and the council is to run 1 heritage day a year. That's 1 day.....!

Regards,

Nick.
