The Uithoflijn between Utrecht Centraal and the Science Park via the busy university/hospital district opens on Monday 16 December. It replaces the very frequent service 12 bus which runs up to every 2 minutes, utilising 25 metre long double articulated buses. Service 12 only runs Monday to Friday and similarly the tram will not run weekends. There can't be many examples of new build tram lines which only run Monday to Friday.
