Using the national-rail-darwin Node package - subsequentCallingPoints works on and off

Hello. I get the serviceId from getDepartureBoard and send it off to getServiceDetails. I want the subsequentCallingPoints - they come back for some services but not for others. I can't work out why. Any ideas?

Hi,

If you are developing in a web based environment and passing serviceId from one script to another via a URL note that OpenLDBWS generated serviceId values are base64 encoded which are not necessarily URL safe, which might explain the transient nature of your problem...

Yes, thanks, that was the problem. Should anyone else come across this thread in the future, you need to use encodeURIComponent(). So something like:

const encoded = encodeURIComponent(serviceId);
