Using FIP in Demark (non safe guarded)

Because some shift swaps have been agreed I'm looking at going to Demark from 18th Aug.

As it's short notice I can only request my coupons commencing 24th Aug so will just be using FIP from 18th to 24th.

How easy is it use in reality and can I buy FIP discounted tickets from ticket machines there.

On a separate matter are there any preserved lines or rail tours on there from 18th to 29th Aug?

unless something has changed I would say that it's not that they won't be valid before 24th, but are unlikely to arrive before then...
(Unless that is the anniversary date of you joining, when it would be the case.)

I've already got my FIP card though plus my partner will be arriving after 24th so can bring the coupons with her.

You used to be able to buy FIP tickets from machines, I had a Danish staff member show me how many years ago. But last month I was in Copenhagen and after trying a machine was told at the travel centre this is no longer possible. They sold me what I needed, but I'm not sure how many other stations would have been able to these days, given Denmark have already closed most booking offices.

It's difficult to buy FIP discounted tickets there. Many stations don't have booking offices - instead, you can buy tickets at convenience stores located at the station. However, when I once tried to buy an FIP discounted ticket at Vejle, the lady behind the shop counter couldn't sell me it. Rather surprisingly, she knew exactly what FIP was - but she explained that her system simply didn't give her an FIP option.

So unless you're at a major station with a ticket office, I think you'll struggle. As in the UK and most other countries, buying on board isn't permitted - though as often happens in the UK, you might be allowed to do so if you speak with the guard before boarding.

Thanks for the advice, sounds like too much aggro, will probably rent a car or go somewhere else.
