Travelling on the Night Riviera tonight. I live abroad but have a UK-registered card. I bought the berth supplement with this card but left it at home. I know, I‘m an idiot.

I‘m travelling on an Interrail pass, I have the card on Apple Pay. Will I still be able to collect the tickets at Paddington?

Assuming you bought your supplement from GWR online, then I don't think you can use the self-service machines as I believe GWR are set to require the actual card (and Apple Pay is treated as a different card).

Paddington ticket office is open until 9 PM tonight and may be willing to issue them, though there's no guarantee (ditto any other NR ticket office).

In practice I don't think you'll have a problem if you have the email confirmation; the sleepers tend to check you off a list rather than ask to see your actual ticket.

That‘s what I thought. I won‘t be at the station until past ticket office closing time, so thats out. I assume the boarding process will be like the Caledonian Sleeper, with the list and names being checked off. I have printed confirmation of bookings and ID so am hoping that will be enough.

Thanks!

I'd add to what has been said - the on train staff seem very reasonable. You might have a harder time getting into the first class lounge though.

For piece of mind I'd try calling GWR to see if they can modify the booking to be collectable with any card as some retailers will do that (and if not I'd still try collecting it with another card anyway)
