Ive noticed over the last two or three trips that VT gateline staff at Euston are using temporary barriers at the end of the platforms when they check tickets, rather than standing at the bottom of the ramp.

Yesterday, when I arrived at Euston we had to queue to get off the statin as the staff had barriered the plaform to check tickets for the train departing on the adjacent platform. That left a narrow gap which was clogged with people queuing for the departure and us trying to get off the platform. Any idea Why they have started doing this?

I suspect it is down the potential safety issues of people queuing and running down the ramps.
