Now that he's President, it's a good thing for Trump that he has the best assassination insurance ever:

Mike Pence.

Notable opinions on certain topics:

-Ban all abortions
-Ban Cannabis
-Ban Pornography
-Ban Contraception
-Reverse same-sex marriage
-Pro-creationism anti-vax
-Pro-War
-Anti-Science/Stemcell research.

Though I would agree with *some* of those things the negatives make anyone who brings Trump to his demise is a complete idiot.

Which of those things would you agree with?!?

I am proud to be a member of the liberal elite. Whatever happened to aspiration?

Nothing until the proletariat aspire to vote for someone they don't approve of then rather than being a topic for patronising affectation they become bigots and racists

People calling themselves elite on here still can't see that they are the sole reason for Brexit and Trump.

So if you don't call yourself elite it's fine, no matter how elite you actually are? Like Trump in his golden lift?

Are you calling me the sole reason for Brexit and Trump? I am against Trump and I am against Brexit on the grounds that both are really really stupid and will damage all of us, some more than others but most of all they will damage the people who voted for them.

I guess that makes me a member of the liberal elite. But I don't understand how I am the sole reason for Brexit and Trump. What did I do?

I am saying that people who consider themselves elite which by definition is to consider themselves superior to others are to blame for Brexit and Trump.
Don't you wonder that calling yourself that is incredibly provocative and only incites people to go against the idea that you and others know best and everybody else is wrong.

Brown, Toynbee, Milliband, Clegg, Izzard, Osborne, Ashdown and others like them are good examples.
Every time people hear them pontificating that they know best and everybody needs to do as they say only pushes people the opposite way.
On Thursday the odious Tonybee said "Brexit seats are where white supremacism won the day".
That is a perfect example of a member of the "elite" rubbishing millions and millions of voters and calling them racists, she like other "elites" are the reason for Trump and Brexit.

The trouble with the liberal ruling class is they never learn. They never saw the Tories winning the election, they rubbished Farage then he won the Euro election, they sneered at Brexit voters and lost that one as well.
Next year we will have all the European elections and they will get them wrong as well, they have created Trump and he is entirely their fault but they can't see it.

So it's entirely their fault? So it's their fault a lot of people resent and hate minorities and disadvantaged groups?

For a political movement who is constantly bleating about personal responsibility, the new right really bad are taking it for themselves.

Many people think that Donald Trump can lower the unemployment. Well; lets see what happens. If wages go up; so will the prices rises as a result. Are people willing to pay extra. Just wait and see!

I'm not aware of any of those people actually calling themselves 'elite'.
And is that any different to Farage, Gove, Johnson, Littlejohn, McKenzie, Liddle, Trump and others like them pontificating that they know best and everybody needs to do as they say?
On Thursday the odious Tonybee said "Brexit seats are where white supremacism won the day".
The 30 areas with the most people identifying as English all voted Leave. And yes, I am well aware that not all those that identify as English are white.

Why is the response to most points basically "oh X did Z, so why not focus on X instead of Y?" instead of actually responding to the point raised?

Boris Johnson's sister has just said on tv that since Trump won her 22yr old daughter has hardly spoken a word.
If I was her mother (which would be hard) I would simply say 3 words to her which would be - "Get a Life" !

Ah yes - clearly this was just a footie match and they should get over it, right?

It never ceases to amaze how hypocritical people who whined for years and years are.

Now predicted that Clinton will have polled close to a million votes more than Trump overall. I take it that Nigel Farage will demand that the 'will of the people' be recognised and Clinton's policies, rather than Trump's, prevail. I don't hold my breath.

P.S. I'm pleased that my spellcheck still doesn't recognise the word 'Farage'.

I can't believe the utter discorded which I've read on this thread, I do agree it was either punch on the left check or punch on the right check..

It just feels like people just dont want to believe the actually truth but instead believe a false truth which makes alot of trump voters look like there bigits etc. A good number of these people were left behides with hope and needing food banks...

Micheal Moore is right, Mr Trump come along said your been left behide and I will fight for you; then told the Ford and that air condition factory you can move your nice little factory's to Mexico but you'll have to pay BIG fat import tax to sell them.

Alot of people are hoping he will come thought, whether this actually happens is open to debate and what we should be asking this.

What is also interesting is Trump has only managed to get the same number of overall votes compared to McCain and Mitt, yet Hilary has nose drived. If you look at the data, Alot of old Democrat haunt switch to trump, while at the same time other democrats votes just could not be bothered to vote, since 2008 there 9million have never come out to vote.... I think 4million Rep voters switched to Garry Johnston.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...2hdVns073R68EZx4SfCnP4IGQf8/htmlview?sle=true

Of course someone has said will she got nearly a million more votes, well alas sorry that no help to anyone, because that not how US elects people ( yes I agree its a stupid system, that a country which say we believe in democracy yet you can win with only 44% ( 1992) Yet go to Russia or zimbabwe you need 50% to win and if not you have a run off......

Hillary know she had lost, since those states went red, she played by the rules and just has to expect them. Remember this IN UK 1951 election Labour got more 1million votes and lost, In Oct 74 Tories got more votes and lost...

While I agree that you can't complain Trump wont because of the system the US uses, I think it is important to remember when phrases like "the will of the people" are banded about. Trump did not win a majority of those who voted, so to try to claim he represents the "will of the people" is just simply disingenuous and false.
