US Freight Train Hits Parade Float

A parade float in Texas has been hit by a freight train whilst passing over a level crossing.

It'll be interesting to find out what happened as according to a witness the crossing lights were not working in time due to a power problem in the area.

Other reports suggest that the vehicle - essentially an articulated lorry with the side sheeting removed and seats lashed-down to the loading bed - may have become grounded on what, in the short Youtube videos of local news reports, appears to be a very sharply-humped crossing.
