Morning

Can anyone help with the allocation for this please ?

Thank you
Dave
Hey Dave

If it is an urgent request then why put the same request out on the non-urgent TOPS request thread as well as this urgent TOPS request thread ?.

It means people answering you are duplicating effort (they don't get paid for).

It also means someone might ignore your request assuming it has been answered on the other thread.

Granted sometimes a non urgent gets urgent as it gets closer to the time. But then, if possible, just delete/edit the contents of the non-urgent request (or just explain its also on urgent TOPS request thread).

Hello all. Noticed an unusual ECS move and it's led me to a strange sequence of events.

First, an ECS move from Perth, 5Z69 0951 Perth to Mossend Up Yard (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U84752/2026-08-01/detailed). STP schedule, activated today at 05:21. Pathed as diesel locomotive w/trailing load 715 tonnes and 75mph max.
Then, an ECS move from Mossend Up Yard, 5Z70 1648 Mossend Up Yard to Gleneagles (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U84753/2026-08-01/detailed). Diesel locomotive w/trailing load 400 tonnes, 75mph max, activated today at 11:20.
Then there's an unadvertised express from Gleneagles, departing from the same platform that 5Z70 arrived at a few minutes later, 1Z70 1816 Gleneagles to Perth (https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:U84754/2026-08-01/detailed) which is identical to 5Z69 (715 tonnes, pathed as diesel @75mph max). Fairly sure this is the Royal Scotsman.

If this is the Royal Scotsman... what's going on here? The train leaves Perth, goes to Mossend, goes to Gleneagles 315 tonnes lighter, and then leaves having regained those 315 tonnes? How and why is that? Where is the tonnage coming from? I apologise if I'm way off track here. This has just puzzled me :?:

The weights are a "timing load" (rather than an accurate predicted tonnage) indicating a loco pulling the weight shown should be able to maintain the scheduled timings without losing time or causing delay.

5Z70 is consisted with 66746 + 99969, 99968, 315, 99963, 99962, 316, 99337, 99960, 99967, 99965 - I think that's the Royal Scotsman set, total weight approximately 385 tons.

Can anybody tell me current class 93 locations please? At 7 pm Sunday they were all in Crewe - 02/03/07/08 at South Yard and the rest at Gresty Bridge. Is that still the case please?

Hiya,
Completely forgot to mention it was Sunday the 2nd of August.

Real time trains didnt show them
Probably not urgent now but a quick check on RTT for the Sunday before (26/07/2026) and the Sunday after (09/08/2026) and even including CANceled services shows nothing for the same time range you were concerned about except one to Crewe Holding Sidings leaving at 15:30 on 26/07/2026.

So....
I would assume the Coaching Stock Depot is closed/unmanned during those times (15:00-21:00) that you wondered were missing on Sunday 02/08/2026 and every every Sunday. Or maybe a signal box is closed/unmanned.

My hunch is that it is not a system error every Sunday but more likely the quietest part of the day on the quietest day of the week.

Evening all,

I appreciate it may be too soon for an allocation to show, but please can someone check what (if anything) is allocated to work this for tomorrow: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:H57293/2026-08-05/detailed

I'm hoping for 66063. If it's not on that but something else instead, please can someone let me know what (if anything) it is booked to work.

Thanks in advance.
Morning,

66063 will be working 6E80 1108 Acton Yard to Tinsley.
