Can anyone help with what seems an anomaly or error?
Last week at Upminster station I was sold a Super Off Peak Return to Andover for £21.25 (with Network Card) for use on Thursday, having said I would leave after 10am and return mid-afternoon.
I tried to book the same again (same times) on Sunday for use today (Monday) and was told that the fare was £25.00 (Off peak Return) and the Super Off Peak had been sold to me in error. I queried it but the person selling the ticket (are they still called booking clerks?) was adamant that £25.00 was the lowest available fare.
I cant find the £21.25 fare on booking engines but assume it must exist for the booking office to sell it to me. In that case why couldnt I have it today (or are there restrictions Monday mornings?).
