Just browsing round the rest of Porterbrook's site, has anyone else noticed (or mentioned in another thread?) there's now a Feb 2014 revision of the industry's 'Rolling Stock Strategy' document, first published Jan 2013?

http://www.porterbrook.co.uk/downloads/Rolling Stock Strategy February 2014.pdf

Perhaps it deserves its own thread though?

Its good to see they did a proper update with the 800/801, 700 and 345 fleets getting a mention. The timelines at the back I'm sure will be of interest, look at its suggestion new EMUs for TPE will arrive between Jan to Dec 2018.

As mentioned in the Porterbrook thread there is now a 2014 version of the 'Long Term Passenger Rolling Stock Strategy for the Rail Industry' available:

http://www.porterbrook.co.uk/downloads/Rolling Stock Strategy February 2014.pdf

I notice they are still keeping with the idea of no new DMUs required and in the previous one I recall they mentioned a small order of DMUs may be required in CP6 (after April 2019) but in this one they say "Assuming that the current policy of a rolling electrification programme continues in CP6, the analysis suggests that no new diesel vehicles (or other self-powered vehicles) would be required to be built in either CP5 or CP6."

They also suggest the first diesel units to be withdrawn will be HSTs, then the next could be Pacers.
