Hi all

On Tuesday I'm taking advantage of the above ticket which I will be using from East Croydon. As they cannot be used until 10am, my itinerary will be as follows;

1003 East Croydon-1149 St Leonards WS
1437 Hastings-1548 Brighton
1602 Brighton-1723 Portsmouth & Southsea
1911 Portsmouth Harbour-2053 East Croydon

What I'd like to know is what rolling stock is likely to operate on each of these services, and will any have power sockets?

Also, do any of you know Hastings?
I passed through on my ALR in 2016 but have never been to the town as such. My plan is to alight at St Leonards Warrior Square, walk up to the seafront, then along it passing the pier, up to the Old Town before going up (and down) the East Hill cliff lift. I will then walk through the main town centre to Hastings station. Is all of this doable in just over 2.5 hours?

In Portsmouth I will connect onto a SWT train to the harbour and have a mooch around the waterfront before getting the Southern service back via Horsham.

They'll all be 377s, apart from the Brighton - Pompey train, which could be a 313

Assuming that you have no mobility issues and walk at an average pace, you should be able to walk from St Leonard's Warrior Square station to Hastings pier in about 15/20 minutes. It's just under a mile. From the pier to the East Hill lift it's just over a mile but on the flat and again should be able to walk it in 15/20 minutes.From the bottom of the East Hill lift you should be able to walk to Hastings Station in 15 minutes.You could have time to do the West Hill lift as well but you don't see anything, just the bricks lining the tunnel!

Should be a nice bracing walk along the sea front!Have a good trip.
