Eccles! Spent about 30 mins there 2 weeks ago, hell hole.

Random. Eccles was my first thought.

Had to deal with the aftermath of a serious crime there some years ago when working for the PTE. It's operator at the time, First North Western still had the nerve to say the station was "...bright, safe and attractive to customers...".

As the OP of this thread I think it has run it's course. In my opinion for what it's worth I still think Berney Arms is a strong contender in England along with Altnabreac in Scotland. As for Wales perhaps Sugar Loaf is the strongest candidate

So shall we say there are a number of stations in Great Britain that one or more of us think are pretty unwelcoming . We all have a "favourite". So can all agree to perhaps disagree on this subjoect

Morfa Mawddach!
Come to think of it anywhere on the Cambrian Coast.

Dunrobin Castle, Loch Eil Outward Bound or Chathill?

I've actually done Chathill - got up early one day and went up and had a walk to Beadnell, got a bus to Alnmouth and got the train back from there. Wasn't a bad day out, apart from the very early start.

Is there still a Postbus from Chathill?
