Morning everyone
This morning, while driving to work into Newcastle, I noticed a very unusual train leaving Newcastle station heading South over the Tyne on the main line bridge. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it was and maybe where it was going?
It was hauled by a Class 66 Freightliner loco and it also had a Class 66 at the back too. The train was much longer than anything you usually see on the line. The Class 66 at the front was already well over the river before the loco at the rear had even left the station! It must have been almost half a mile long.
The train was composed of about 50 unusual freight cars that were yellow and had a spout like bit on one end. I've tried to find an example of one on the internet, but can't seem to find any information on what they are.
Can any of you experts shed some light on this mystery?
