The AC Loco group has got a fair few locos which are relatively old and having been used on the mainline for decades, such as the class 81/82/83/84 and 89.
Now, as far as I can gather, most of these are due to return to the mainline at some point, particularly 89001.
using 89001 as an example, the loco would be used on tours; tours which are operated by a tour company and a TOC/FOC for the loco.
Hence, my question is: Are there any drivers passed out on the loco?? If they're are, I doubt they'll be at an TOC/FOC that runs tours (such as EWS or WCRC). So, who drives the train? Would driver have to be drafted in from wherever they work because they are one of very few who can drive the loco? :-?
Ta,
