Unusual life ambitions

First of, note the following:

This thread is not career-related!

Considering the contents of this thread, I have begun thinking about things I really want to do in my life. Ever since I was at high school I have had a list of five natural phenomena that I would give almost anything to experience/witness, of which I have managed only one - to see a comet. (I managed this aged only 7.) But of the five, it is the least important

In addition to seeing a comet, I would also love to experience/witness each of the following:

• Seeing the aurora
• Seeing a volcano erupt
• Seeing a tornado
• Experiencing an earthquake

Of these, unfortunate timing on my part cost me a chance to see two tornadoes (the wider South Essex area had two in the first 12 months after I left home), and to make matters worse I fell asleep literally 20 minutes before the earthquake that hit the Lincoln area a few years ago, which was apparently felt in Southend! :cry: And of course, there is the potential aurora sighting at the minute - when the area is bathed in cloud. (And then it's dependent on it even being viewable this far south.)

Anyhow, anyone else want to go? (Or laugh at me?)

Oh I've got plenty of strange ones, getting an HGV Licence is on there for some reason, seeing the green glow (not at Lydd) is another, I didn't feel the Linconshire Earthquake, although my bf did... Was in the bath (TMI?)

The list is too long and too strange for on here though...

If you mean the Market Rasen earthquake, I felt that here in Epsom... just a shudder, though, making stacked wire basket type post trays rattle and visibly vibrate.

PS have experienced two (small) earthquakes here in England, but none of the other things mentioned, though I have seen Vesuvius.

If my list had a sixth entry, it would be a meteor shower. I believe I witnessed a minor one on September 9th, 2010. I must have seen about 10 "shooting stars" that; anything besides a meteor shower would be unlikely to explain that kind of frequency. I would like to see a more obvious one though.

I'm aiming to get all Category A-D entitlements on my driving licence by the end of 2013 at the latest.

So far, I've got B and C, and will hopefully have D soon enough (though will be an automatic one). My plan is to try and do the C+E one later this year, which adds B+E and D+E too (and apparently will bump the D from an automatic up to a full one). I'll probably try and do the cat A at some point as well.

This or next summer I want to get my C sorted, was considering just doing a C1, but then with CPC it's utterly pointless just doing a C1 now with the cost of a C not being much more including the CPC. D series wise, I'd be happy with D1+E (That will come with C+E and D Combined IIRC) can't see me driving anything more than a minibus. But I might do a Pracilla, so I don't know if a D1 / C would cover it if I replaced the seats or not...

If there are any left in Bath by then :roll: Could always do it in Leeds I suppose; the 95 there uses sister bendies to ours (by which I mean we have 10035-7; they have from 10038).

  My list would be too long to list. To put things simply, I've met every moderator and administrator at least once, and probably 10 times in the cases of Mojo and yorkie, many Challenge regulars, many London meal regulars, many regular fare contributors, and quite a few others. I've even met two banned people! As for Nym, don't worry, you're on mine. If that is any good.

career related here sorry but work on a cruiseship.
Maybe career related, drive a train
not career related, visit every theme park in the world (yes I bash rolercosters as well as trains, trams, buses, coaches and ships)
visit the worlds top 10 tallest buildings and ride the elivater as high as it goes
cruise from southampton to new-york
visit no.10 downing street
clear the 14x class for haulage (the only class I really want to clear, not bothered with the rest but I just love pacers)
do the UKs top 5 longest routes opperated by service buses
get married but not have kids
take actrace Emma Watson for a romantic evening out
pluck up the courage to ask the 17 (nearly 18) year old I fancy out, (im 27)
go on holiday to China
become a counciler/MSP/MP (Not as a longterm career but to at least try and put some things rite)
do a skydive/parishoot jump
and a few more

the first 2 wil never happen due to my having no eyesite. As for the rest who knows

Aside from that:-
being able to buy a 14-day All Line Rail Rover, First Class
to meet Aretha Franklin
to be able to have a 3-4 weeks vacation in Antigua (visiting a specific person)
to have a car AND the confidence to drive around in London as I did in the late 80's
to be more talkative and outgoing to attend a forum meet (one quiet person in a lively group must be a real drag)

A strange ambition of mine is to take an easel up into the hills and paint a view with a church in it. Thing is, I'm absolutely hopeless at art of any form hock:

Ive recently achieved one of my ambitions....returning to live in Cornwall. I should be moving in three months time, pending on my property purchase.

Second ambition is to learn to run again with the aid of a specially adapted false leg, known as a blade, then to complete the London Marathon in aid of help for heroes and the amputee foundation.

Third would be for me to do the Paris-Dhakar rally....now that would be the ultimate challenge!

What if you do it the other way round though, already have the C+E and then do the D, would you get D+E for free? I know the DVLA can be ****y like that.
