Unusual F/B Baseplate

Here is one for the Infrastructure guys.

Has anyone seen one of these before ??

It is probably a British Rail standard baseplate of type BR3A which had a modified jaw compared with the original BR3 to allow for the change from 109lb FB to 110A FB rail section. They were mainly used on the old Southern Region, having the jaw on the outside means there is less need to work on the con rail side of the baseplate.

Nope.This is not a single photo. The baseplate dimensions are not constant and even worse nor is the sleeper.

It is a genuine BR baseplate type from the 1950's and 60's. Although not as common as the more usual BR1 and BR2 types.

They were mainly used south of the river, and I have seen them in the wild but not for a good few years.

The fifth photo on the attached web page also shows BR3 type baseplates but from more of a distance. If there is still any doubt I have a copy of the RE-PW drawing for this baseplate somewhere.
