Unrecognised warning light

Hi - new to this forum and have a couple of queries:

My 1994 Caetano Optimo 3 threw up a warning light yesterday that I've never seen before and neither has my service agent. Here's a rough idea of what it looks like:


Leaving aside the possibility of a spacecraft landing ahead, does anyone have an idea of what it could be? It went off shortly afterwards, but I'm now paranoid about what might be about to blow up/fall off.

I'm also having trouble with a leaking diff on the back axle. For some reason, probably cost-cutting, the rear plate was welded on, not bolted. Because it's not load-bearing, it's thinner metal than the rest of the diff. Several tiny pinholes of rust action are now gently letting out oil - about a dessert-spoon in 20 miles. Enough to be a problem. I tried cleaning it up and plastering it with a 2-pack resin a couple of years ago, but that's flaking off now. Looks like another axle is needed - I've asked Caetano for any info on the unit, but got no reply. It would be useful to know if it's a standard axle as fitted to Mitsubishi Canter, Ford Cargo, or whatever.

Anyone had any experience of this and got suggestions? Thanks for any help.

What colour was the warning light? Was it green as you’ve shown?

IIRC your bus uses a Toyota Coaster chassis so its likely that the rear axle is either a Toyota manufactured item or possibly something that they sourced from an OEM.

With a vehicle of that age support from Caetano, who made the body, is probably going to be thin on the ground.

That is based on the Toyota Dyna light truck platform, version Y60 AFAIK, you might have better luck searching for details on that.

IIRC your bus uses a Toyota Coaster chassis so its likely that the rear axle is either a Toyota manufactured item or possibly something that they sourced from an OEM.

With a vehicle of that age support from Caetano, who made the body, is probably going to be thin on the ground.

To be fair support from Caetano on their newer stuff isn't great.
Regarding the warning light, it looks like it's supposed to be a steering wheel, it's probably a sensor fault somewhere

Thanks for your help, guys. In my ignorance of internet-speak, I started searching for axles with the spec Y60 AFAIK...

Still no luck with identifying the warning light, but it's green, so probably nothing to worry about, especially as it's not showing any more.

I'll keep searching for the axle, but at least now I know what axle I'm after! Cheers.

Interesting that it is "green" because that suggests that something is in operation (for example the way that a green light flashes when an indicator is in operation) rather than ot being "red" (which I always took to mean stop as soon as it is safe to do so to check) or "yellow" (which I take to mean stop and check soon because action is needed soon).

Looks to me to be a steering wheel and alignment.

Wild guesses are lane assist, or a steering tag axle active, but if neither of those are fitted then suggests it is a connector or rogue sensor signal. Might be a sensor on steering column.

The second orange symbol further down is clearly heated steering wheel switched on. Whatever happenEd to driving gloves.
