What's the most unrealistic train set you've seen?

I'm not talking about "two car" HSTs, but about unrealistic rakes of trucks/ the wrong engine to suit the coaches etc etc (all in one box from Hornby/ Lima)

A Hornby 'City Freight' set which was a Deltic in BR Green pulling about four mixed goods wagons. Number One - they pulled mainly passenger services, Number Two - if they pulled freight, it was in massive long rakes.

That Deltic set was what sprung to my mind when I read the first post as well. Many years ago, I bought an 'Airfix' set which comprised of a green Class 31 (with no yellow ends) and 3 blue/grey air-cons!

I have a blue Airfix class 31 in my display case not a bad runner either.
I find it abit unrealistic that Bachman produced a 3 car Virgin voyager rather than a four car when I bought it.

Why is a 2-car HST unrealistic? I'm pretty sure they ran 2 cars on Preston to Blackpool shuttles in c2001? (Wish I'd done them!!<D)

 indeed they did, have a picture also of one 2+2 set vice VT 158 as well, due to some reason of the other.

Also you can find many odd formations that people do on YouTube, like one I saw of two HST powercars plus freight, and 2 GNER power cars + the hornby 4-wheel cleaning coach!

I think the "Royal Train" set is a bit out of whack, as they provide an LMS steam loco, No. 6201 "Princess Elizabeth" with three current Royal Train Mk3s.

The Deltic also had WIPAC's...
That was pretty terrible though...
