Did BRCW type 2 (class 26 & 27) and BRCW type 3 (class 33) ever work side by side under British Rail, other than railtours and special workings ?

Did the Cliffe - Uddingston cement trains use 33's into Scotland, or did they come off en route (York?)?.

Any of 159/444/450/458 and 375/376/395 as no SWT services run alongside any SE services. You could be picky and go on the London Eye and view Waterloo & W'loo East at the same time though :D
455's not included as they used to go to Chart Leacon at one time.
Also, Southern's 455s encounter all SE barring the 395s on the London Bridge approaches.

Errr. One isn't likely to see any kind of pacer with any kind of unit only used in Network South East...

What about when they came to Eastleigh?

Also, what about the 159's that go to Bristol/Exeter?

165s/168s and 350s/390s - they operate between the same cities and even cross over each other a few times but you'll never see them next to each other (until East-West Rail brings Chiltern to MKC anyway!)

Somewhere, not in London
So at Birmgingham New Street or Crewe, I'll never see a 350 next to a 390?

When I was stood on platform 5 at Crewe looking southbound with a 390 coming up the fasts and an LM 350 sat in the bays I was imagining that? heh

Or until there's some major engineering work and Chiltern are diverted into New Street (wouldn't be the first time).

Actually, they can be seen together:

A 142 is booked for 2H29, the 0722 Crewe - Manchester Oxford Road stopper;

Whilst a 350 works 1U22, the 0733 Crewe to London Euston stopper.

One of the only times of the day that is, as 350s are regular at Crewe, on London, Birmingham and Liverpooll services, whereas all Northern stopper services from Crewe are operated by 323s except for the 0722.

I meant coupled together as one is a DMU, the other is an incompatable EMU.

Oh coupled together, right I see. Beg your pardon.

I don't think a 142 and a 175 can be coupled together, although I once thought I saw 142077 and 175105 attached together at Cardiff once, unless they were just parked very closely nose to nose!

A 142 has a BSI coupler.

A 175 has a dellner Scharfenberg couple. I don't think they'll bag together some how.

Arriva has no other stock that can couple to the 175s, not in normal circumstances anyway.

Does anyone know if they have suitable "emergency" couplers for use after a failure?
