Unknown Station

A friend of mine in the UK sent me this image taken by his late uncle to see if I could identify the station. There are no notes. It looks vaguely like GWR territory from the signal box but I may be wrong coming as I do from deepest Lancashire. Can anyone help us?

Barmouth, at a guess.

I'd agree with Barmouth, based on the building in the background with the chimneys still being there today

It definitely looks like Barmouth with the North box in the foreground. Presumably taken from the footbridge north of the station.

As are the fairly distinctive 3 story terraced houses on the far right. There’s more modern housing on the site of those carriage sidings, but the other side of the street, Marine Road, is easily found on Streetview.

Bizarrely I remember visiting the gents as a child in the 1970's The cast Iron urinals had " please do not forget to adjust your clothing before leaving the building" or very similar working, it amused a 10 year old.

Must have been a significant concern to the powers-that-were at Paddington.! I recall seeing something very similar in the gents at Great Malvern in the late 1960s.
