unknown 31 on test train

Standing waiting for my train to Stsfford today at stoke on trent - a 31 hauled test train appeared from the derby line towards crewe / manc managed to get a photo just before a pendolino passed south does anyone know what the loco + stock was please?

Maybe it could have been 31285. This was seen at Gospel Oak, this week. Light Engine Only.
