Which units in service have the loudest noise when passing through a neutral section in the overhead lines, the 805/807s don't half make a noise especially if stood in the vestibule outside the disabled toilet at either end.

Electrostars for sure. When the 387s first arrived on GN, it was very common to read Twitter messages where people were reporting they heard a concerning bang from the train roof.

It isn’t necessarily that it’s loud, just that the bang sounds out of place especially in a part of the train that’s otherwise fairly quiet. Whereas on something like a 317 it was more of a “clunk” that somehow sounded less like an object had been dropped on the roof.
