Good evening
I seem to remember someone quoting that a couple of 465 units were parked up at Bromley North, are they still there?

Yes, still there. Usually one unit, sometimes 2. They regularly get graffiti tagged, as the station is open 24x7, and then removed for cleaning. Each platform can stable 2 x 4 car units.

Only has 2 platforms, so considering a service has to run, this would be maybe just 2-3 units (think it can hold 6 cars don't quote me on that) which doesn't sound like it would provide much space unless Grove Park really is THAT full.

It's also completely open via a side-entrance overnight so I imagine that's a tagger's paradise. The weird station mall feels seriously neglected too.

There was a four car networker berthed in P1 the other day when I passed through, appears to be the same tonight. It seems like madness, unless these are further units awaiting imminent retirement as a result of the 707’s deployment?

They stored condemned networkers in the sidings at Beckenham Junction before disposal, from memory.

A listed building no less!

I know Southeastern has a serious stabling capacity problem - most London terminals (and other stations) regularly see berthed sets, as did Beckenham Junction siding so it doesn't surprise me that much they've tried to eke out whatever they can.

That was historically the case. Presumably they have more metro units in total now which will have exacerbated the issue. The London terminals are at least secure, locked and staffed. Locations like Bellingham sidings, Bromley North and Beckenham Junction siding/bay platform leave units very exposed.

Hayes is another location where units can theoretically be berthed, but I doubt they’ll attempt that. They’d likely be picked clean and propped up on bricks after the first night :D!

On the line now heading home, and the unit shuttling up and down has its sides all tagged. Definitely getting the impression that graffiti clearance is getting worse on SE - or that tagging has increased so much that the cleaners can’t keep up.

This is what can happen if you leave one there.

I think it's always been towards the worse end of most TOCs, to be fair. Lots of very insecure berthing spots, a "lovely" local population in some parts and a TOC that traditionally felt rather run down with multiple franchise direct awards.
