BBC News said:
Gerard Coyne - the man challenging Len McCluskey for the leadership of Unite - has been suspended from his job as a regional official with the union.

The move comes as counting is about to get under way in the union's leadership ballot.

Mr Coyne, who is seen as the anti-Jeremy Corbyn candidate, has been suspended as West Midlands regional secretary pending an investigation.
He is not thought to have been suspended as a union member.

Mr Coyne's campaign was recently warned by the union's acting general secretary that some of his campaign literature contained potentially defamatory statements about Mr McCluskey.

I wonder if he's been suspended for not applauding Corbyn's speech today. ;)

In the election papers I received he did make some quite strong comments about the current leader.

I would have thought that a suspended suspension would have been more appropriate; let the membership know the allegations and level of evidence and then let them make their own decision.

Or is it democracy, but only when it produces the so-called right result?

I'd be more worried about the fact that only 13% of members bothered to cast their votes with the winner receiving 4%

I do hope we will not hear McCluskey questioning the legitimacy of Governments that whilst elected on a minority of the popular vote still far eclipse his tally :p
