I can only offer some general observations. The canopy is quite distinctive, especially its relatively small size, flat roof and beefy square supports. Whilst there are two platforms, the station has the feel of being in a wayside location, but the building itself looks well constructed and certainly not built on the cheap. Rather lavish for the volume of traffic it might be expected to handle? Was it just a short carriage drive away from the country estate of one of the directors or major sharehoders perhaps? The walls look to be built out of granite rubble - presumably this would only have been used if it could be quarried fairly locally. Does any of this help at all?
I agree with John Webb. It does look more northern than southern.
A further thought. The height of the lamp standard suggests it was lit by gas, rather than by oil. If so, then there must have been a source of gas or a gasworks reasonably close, however modest in size. I wonder what structure was on the other platform.

Did a google image search - claims to be Denaby in South Yorkshire. Closed to passengers in 1903 and by all accounts still standing. Am now off to google earth.

There is a photo on the Conisborough & Denaby Main Heritage Group Facebook page of a station that is similar, but it differs in a number of significant details. (I can’t tell which station it is as the preview caption runs out before that and I don’t use Facebook.) Photos that I can find of Denaby & Conisborough show it as a wooden single-storey building.
By the style this may be a relatively early way side station, but that is only my impression

Oakamoor station on the North Staffordshire (Churnet Valley line) looks/looked broadly similar, but the handful of photos I've seen of there, all seem to have a pitched roof where the canopy is.

When I first saw the image, I thought "that looks a bit like Chathill, but isn't actually Chathill". Could it be somewhere in that neck of the woods?

FWIW I did think maybe a North Staffs Railway architectural style - but I'm not an expert on that railway.

It's not Oakamoor. The large and small gables are the wrong way round, and even if the photo has been flipped Oakamoor has a common building line on the platform and the OP has the larger gable projecting.
One of the Northumberland ECML stations was also my first thought. It's a shame the chimneys aren't in shot, as they are often quite distinctive.

How close are we to AI being capable of finding this immediately in a reverse image search?
I also thought it looked a bit like Morpeth or Acklington. Same ECML reasoning. There are also some abandoned stations in that region (e.g. from Blyth and Tyne Railway) that may look similar.

Appears to be the ramp of the nearside (from the photographer's POV) platform in the bottom left of the shot. Slightly staggered platforms might help narrow it down a bit.

Probably not all that close as it would require a lot of positively identified and correctly labelled images to be online.
I tried this yesterday on Google images search ( the right click lens thing ) and gave up immediately when it stated with positive certainty that it was a specific station which it quite clearly wasn't...
It reminds me a little bit of Kettleness actually, just going to go and find a photo as I'm not 100% that it had those sorts of columns in the middle of the station building over the entrance but as soon as I saw it my ex-Scout brain (it's now used by Scouts for camping and activities) went "You've slept in that building, that's Kettleness!"

It definitely looks as though that it may well be Rednal. Looking at photos on disused-stations even reveal a tree that could be the one in the background. The only difference I can see is the edge of the platform.
I have looked at the other stations on the Shrewsbury & Chester on disused-stations, but none seem to fit. Baschurch is similar, but differs in details.

I think that's almost certainly correct.
This video (about a year old) has front-on view of the surviving station buildings ( at 1:30 )
Presumably the portico has long since gone.
Ah yes Kettleness is close but no cigar. The flanking station buildings stick out to much rather than being flush. Definitely feels like a station in the North though.

Presuming by the background colour this is from Disused Stations, there is a photo further down which is extremely similar to the OP. Also it shows the platforms ending very close to the building, which fits with the ramp on the OP.

If indeed it is Rednal & West Felton station (which is located in the Oswestry area) it last changed hands in May last year for some £175,000, this according to H.M. Land Registry records. Looks like it now badly needs some TLC. Wonder how old the photo is?

The disused station website towards the end of the entry explains it was up for auction in 2023 guide price £125k I think. With an agent’s picture indicating a fair bit of work required. Holes in roof etc plus other obvious defects.
Beautiful building tho and not beyond point of no return then. Just have to hope someone bought it who may do the work.
Edit. I see it’s grade 2 listed and a general search provides several local press stories eg Shropshire Star on the sale. Probably copied from agents press notice here.
