Was standing outside office today (next to lines just out of Haymarket Station when a train consisting of 2 Diesel Locos and 3 yellow network rail carriages with a pantograph raised on middle carriage. Locos look like they may be 67s had a dark livery. Passed at slow speed at about 11am. Anyone know what this train was (was doing?)

Cheers actually saw it yesterday too but thought nothing of it, then it passed by again today and my interest was renewed.

There's been a formation with Mentor in it, top and tailed by EWS-liveried 67s, doing stand-in for the NMT recently, according to Railway Herald (presumably the NMT is getting a heavy service)

Yesterday lunchtime I saw it parked on platform 19. Today it was on platform 2, wondered what train it was until now. Where's it running to up here?

There's a tiny little thing in some sidings at Edge Hill in Liverpool which you pass on the down towards Wavertree Technology Park. Don't know what it does and it never seems to move!.

I've seen this recently whilst visiting my mum in Liverpool, I'd forgot about this until you mentioned it! I'll do some digging!

Probably because the NMT can't do instrumented pantograph measurements at the moment because 1) the Development Vehicle is out of the rake, and 2) the pan is OOS anyway.
