Uni Interview - Leeds Met

I've got a Uni interview tomorrow, and i'm applying for Counselling and Therapeutic Studies at Leeds Met.

I'm just wondering, what sort of questions they might ask me?

I've got the "What/why would you like to be chosen/what makes you want to do this course" questions done, and the "Previous Experience" based questions as well, but I don't know what other stuff they might ask me.

Any ideas???

(Hopefully people will give me actual questions I may be asked, and nothing immature...)


I've also been told theres an education forum on here (or something to that extent), would someone be able to move my thread there, and then let me know where it has been moved to, on account of I can't find it at the moment.

This may be a bit late for you. If so I apologise but I hope it's of some use anyways .

Uni interviews I had mainly focussed on discussing what I had written in my personal statement more than anything else. Obviously this differs between people! They normally just ask you to clarify a few points or go further in detail about what you have said.

Not so much 'why you'd like to get chosen' but more asking 'why this university?' style. You can use the opportunity to demonstrate a degree of research about the uni/course and its location to show you are aware of what a course there will entail. For instance you could say 'Looking at the modules studied here, I found them more interesting compared to other unis which offer similar courses. I'm particularly interested in the xxx one'.

Some may also ask questions about the subject to test your knowledge slightly and/or get you thinking about things in a different way. Normally, though, they won't base their decision on you not knowing something so there's no need to hurriedly revise everything!

A common point that comes up too is the whole 'any questions?' question at the end. Certainly people I've spoken to says it is advisable to have a couple of questions in mind so you can ask something about the course or uni. It's always easy to clam up at the end of the interview thinking you've done abysmally bad and just want to get out the room, though!

Even if you do have a couple of questions in mind, there's nothing to say that during your talk they won't be answered either (it happened to me a couple of times!). I'd say it's entirely up to you as to whether you go in with questions (or form them in the interview) or not.
